The Valentine’s season is not just for lovers. Lots of men and women are unhappy at this time of year because of relationship woes and may benefit from a consultation with you. Make sure they know about your practice.
Couples In Conflict
Whether married or just dating, many couples have issues that you can help to resolve. They want to save their relationships or to end them peaceably, and can learn a lot from you. Some practitioners develop lucrative specialty niches, such as helping couples deal with the distress of affairs or the unique dynamics of LGBT relationships, for example, so get additional training if you have such interests.
All the Valentine’s hype can make singles feel inadequate because they’re not in a relationship. Many get grief from family and friends for being unwed, and can benefit from learning strategies to push back on all this guff. Skills for finding the joy in their lives as singles can help tremendously too, while helping those who are truly in search of relationships to improve their ability to connect with others.
Though most of those who contact you are likely to feel unhappy and in search of emotional relief, there are couples who are doing just fine but who want to do even better. They’re looking for ways to grow their relationships and appreciate your help in identifying new horizons they can explore together. Some practitioners help them in traditional style, while others create informative, stimulating, and fun workshops and retreats that they host in hotels, conference centers, and popular travel destinations. There’s plenty of room for creativity, but remain mindful of professional boundaries and related ethical considerations.
If you don’t typically think of this time of year to promote your practice, think again. There are many couples and singles who need your help, but who may not realize just how you can help. Make sure you tell them!
